[Helma-dev] Announcing Helma Boot Camp II

Dear Helma developers,

after several failed attempts to reenact the mythical event known to
some as Helma Boot Camp, I'm glad to announce that I'll be organizing
a meeting for existing and aspiring Helma developers on Friday,
December 3rd, 2004.  Helma Boot Camp II will last one day and take
place at the building known as Alpenmilchzentrale in 1040 Vienna (see
attached map). Anybody using Helma or interested in using Helma is
invited to attend.

The program will consist of 4 to 6 presentations or talks, each
lasting somewhere between 20 and 40 minutes. The deep and meandering
discussions which are sure to follow will easily fill out the rest of
the day (and possibly some of the evening).

Presentation topics (and hence presenters) will be selected on
helma-dev. Possible topics go from Introductions to Helma Basics (this
is what Helma Boot Camp 1 tried to deliver after all, failing
miserably according to some participants) to topics covering advanced
or cutting edge Helma technologies. The general direction of talks
should be towards people working with Helma rather than people working
on Helma, I think. Depending on the number of proposals I'll either
gladly accept anybody willing to talk, or use list member feedback to
gauge general interest into proposed talks.

I'm looking forward to this occasion to meet Helma developers face to
face, some of which I may not have seen before. Let your proposals
start coming!

PS: While I thought it was a good idea to fix a date to December 3rd,
this is not cast in stone. If this is a special day for guinea pig
enthusiasts or other interest groups that intersect with Helma
developers, or if the remaining 3 weeks are too short to come up with
decent presentations, we can fix it.
