Hi list,
As a visible sign that things are still moving in Helmaland, there'll
be some new releases in the very near future. The plan is to put out
long overdue Helma 1.4.2 in one of these days from CVS HEAD (1.4.1
was released on July 29, 2004).
That will be the last planned 1.4 release, and 1.4.2 will fork a new
CVS branch for possible bug fix releases. Daniel's repository_patch
will be merged back to HEAD, and will be the biggest new feature for a
Helma 1.5 release later in March or in early April. This should also
contain the updatable collections Manfred is workin on (see bug 401),
some reworking on the XML-RPC code, and extended clustering support
via HelmaSwarm (which may possibly be renamed to prevent confusion).
Please let me know what kind of features/bug fixes you'd still want
for 1.4.2 or 1.5, if any. For 1.4.2, I'm still planning to implement
HopObject.store() as proposed by Paul Alexandrow, but I don't see too
much new stuff going into it apart from that.
Hannes
